Have you ever felt the rush of excitement, the burst of adrenalin rush and immense contentment after a “great” conversation? Now think back to what it was about the talk that made you feel so happy, and you will probably realise it was because it was big talk.

If you aren’t quite sure what is meant by “big talk”, it’s the sort of conversations that seek meaning in the discourse, the type of conversation that is driven by a desire to get to know someone for who they really are, the sort of talk that explores deeper ideas and widens perspective.

Big talk is what everyone enjoys engaging in; some actively seek to touch on meaningful topics (such as myself!) whilst others delve deeper in conversation only when opportunity allows so. Regardless, everyone feels that excitement, adrenaline rush and contentment when they finally reach that “big talk” milestone with the ones they love.

Yet, we all fail to have such talks frequently due to the nature of our fast-paced lives, leaving our present and potential relationships to run shallow. Listen to “More Big Talk, Less Small Talk” to get to know the power of engaging in big talk as much as you can and the four simple ways you can incorporate big talk in your life to keep your relationships feeling meaningful.

What is discussed in the episode:

I have realised that my episodes are very factual and structured and since this topic is much more personal (and I couldn’t conduct research), I decided to make this episode much more free-flowing where I discussed my thoughts as they came in my mind. For this, I will not put up a list of discussed points due to the lack of structure for this episode.

Mentioned resource:

I became very motivated in discussing the importance of big talk when I watched this Ted Talk by Kalina; it made me very excited to realise that she also values meaningful talk to the same extent and it made me understand how everyone should also feel the same. Please watch this!
